Deep Cove Daze

Deep Cove Daze has been a community event dating back to the turn of the century when Deep Cove was first occupied by today’s society. There were events such as a community dance, a diving/ costume contest, canoe jousting and more.

Tyler Pearson, founder and owner of Deep Cove Music, saw the need for a governing body to help obtain funding and organize the event after volunteering to help with the event in the summer of 1997. In 1998 he took over the then dormant MUSART Cultural Society and reinstated it into good standing as a not for profit society and applied for funding. MUSART was successful with some funding as was able to take over the coordination of the Deep Cove Daze community arts festival in the summer of 1998 which was produced by Jeff Maynard and Tyler Pearson.

Deep Cove Daze is a local community arts festival that occurs on the last Sunday of August in Panorama Park with entertainment on the waterfront mainstage and amphitheatre sidestage, a fun play zone for kids, a food court, a beer garden, an artisan / vendor alley, a sponsor area and various events such as a kids parade to open the day, The pie-eating contest sponsored by Stong’s and cardboard kayak contest sponsored by Deep Cove Canoe & Kayak round out a full day of free family fun for the community.
